Richard A. Couto

Richard Anthony Couto (December 31, 1941 – February 25, 2017) was a teacher, political science professor, and author known for his advocacy of service learning and civic engagement in higher education[1][4]. He grew up in Lawrence, Massachusetts, earned his PhD from the University of Kentucky, and authored or edited 14 books, five of which won national awards[1][5].
