Richard 1573-1659? Johnson

Richard Johnson (baptized May 24, 1573, in London; died 1659?) was an English romance writer known for popular chivalric and adventure tales. His best-known work is *The Most Famous History of the Seaven Champions of Christendome* (1596–1597), which was widely read in his lifetime.[1][2]
