Reuters

Paul Julius Reuter, originally named Israel Beer Josaphat, was a German-born British entrepreneur and pioneer of telegraphy who founded the Reuters news agency in 1851.[1][2][5] Born into a Jewish family in Kassel, he converted to Christianity in 1844, adopted the name Reuter, and revolutionized news reporting by using telegraphs for rapid international transmission.[1][2][4] He was ennobled as Baron von Reuter in 1871, retired from Reuters in 1878, and died in Nice, France.[1][2][3]
