Renée C. Fox

Renée C. Fox was an influential American sociologist best known as a founding figure in medical sociology and for her pioneering studies of medicine, medical education, research, and ethics. She taught at the University of Pennsylvania for decades, where she held the Annenberg Professorship and became a leading observer and critic of bioethics. Her work included extensive participant-observation research in Europe, Central Africa, China, and the United States.
