Reg Gadney
Reginald Bernard John Gadney (1941-2018) was a multi-talented British painter, thriller-writer, and screenwriter who served as an officer in the Coldstream Guards before pursuing a distinguished career in the arts and academia. He taught at the Royal College of Art for 15 years and became its youngest Pro-Rector, while simultaneously publishing over 16 crime thrillers and writing acclaimed screenplays, including the BAFTA-winning adaptations of Iris Murdoch's The Bell and The Sculptress. He also wrote and appeared in the 1989 biopic Goldeneye about author Ian Fleming, and later gained recognition as a portrait painter with works in collections worldwide.
