Rebecca Sparling

Rebecca 'Becky' Hall Sparling (née Hall), PE, was an American materials engineer and registered mechanical engineer specializing in high-temperature metallurgy. She worked as a metallurgist at the Naval Gun Factory in Washington, D.C., testing anti-aircraft guns and recommending materials and design specifications, and later directed the Air Force Cast Wing project as Staff Structures Engineer. In 1957, she received the Society of Women Engineers' highest honor, the Engineering Achievement Award, and co-authored the first paper on immersed ultrasonic inspection in 1949.[1]
