Ray Kurzweil is an American computer scientist, inventor, and futurist born in Queens, New York in 1948. He is a pioneering developer in artificial intelligence and pattern-recognition technology, with major contributions to optical character recognition (OCR), text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition, and electronic musical instruments. He currently serves as Director of Engineering at Google and is known for his predictions about the future of technology and artificial intelligence.
