Rashid Khalidi
Rashid Ismail Khalidi is a Palestinian-American historian of the Middle East and the Edward Said Professor Emeritus of Modern Arab Studies at Columbia University, where he retired in October 2024[1][6]. He is a widely published scholar who has authored notable books including The Hundred Years' War on Palestine and Palestinian Identity, and served as president of the Middle East Studies Association[1][2]. Khalidi was born in New York, United States, on November 18, 1948, and has taught at institutions such as the University of Chicago, Georgetown University, and the American University of Beirut[1][6][9].
