Lucy Cousins is a British author and illustrator of children's books, best known for her Maisy series featuring Maisy Mouse, which began in the 1990s and inspired a TV series in 1999 and a forthcoming animated adaptation in 2026. Born to artist parents, she developed an early interest in children's books, studied graphic design at Brighton Polytechnic, and honed her skills at the Royal College of Art under Quentin Blake's encouragement.
