Rajiv K. Varma

Rajiv K. Varma is a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, with over 35 years of experience in power systems engineering. He earned his B.Tech. (1980) and Ph.D. (1988) in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, India, where he also served as faculty for 25 years. Notable contributions include the invention of PV-STATCOM technology, enabling solar farms to provide grid-stabilizing functions day and night.
