Rainer Greger

Rainer Friedemann Greger (1946–2007) was a German physiologist renowned for elucidating transport processes essential for urine concentration in the kidney and fluid secretion. His research significantly advanced the understanding of diuretic mechanisms and the pathophysiology of cystic fibrosis. He authored and edited key medical textbooks and received prestigious awards including the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz-Preis and the Jacob-Henle-Medaille.
