Rafael Campo
Rafael Campo is an American poet, essayist, and physician born in Dover, New Jersey, in 1964 to Cuban and Italian parents. He graduated from Amherst College and Harvard Medical School, practices internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and serves as Director of Literature and Writing Programs at Harvard Medical School. His acclaimed poetry collections, including 'Diva' (1999 finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award) and 'What the Body Told' (1996 Lambda Literary Award winner), explore themes of healing, identity, and empathy.
