Radhanath Swami
Radhanath Swami, born Richard Slavin on December 7, 1950, in Chicago, USA, left home as a teenager to hitchhike across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia in search of spiritual truth, eventually reaching India where he embraced Bhakti Yoga and became a disciple of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1971. Initiated as Radhanath Swami after taking sannyasa vows in 1982, he established the Radha Gopinath Temple in Mumbai in 1986 and inspired major initiatives like ISKCON's free midday meal program for over 1.2 million schoolchildren and the Bhaktivedanta Hospital.[1][2][3][5]
