Rachel Neumeier

Rachel Neumeier began writing fiction as a graduate student to relax from her research in botany, where she published a few articles before leaving academia to pursue her hobbies full-time.[1][2] She is the author of numerous fantasy novels for both adults and young adults, including The City in the Lake (2008), The Floating Islands, House of Shadows, and the Black Dog series, with titles published by major publishers and self-published works.[4][5][6] In addition to writing, she raises and shows Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, gardens, cooks Indian food, and works part-time tutoring in math and chemistry.[1][2]
