Rachel Bowlby

Rachel Bowlby (born 1957) is a British literary scholar and critic known for work on literary realism, consumer culture, Virginia Woolf, Freud, and feminist theory. She has held academic posts at the University of Sussex, Oxford, York, Princeton, and University College London, and is the author of books including "Carried Away: The Invention of Modern Shopping" and "Feminist Destinations."
