R. Tucker Abbott
Robert Tucker Abbott (1919–1995) was a prominent American conchologist and malacologist known as 'Mr. Seashell' for bringing the study of seashells to the public through over 30 books translated into many languages. He served as the founding director and museum director of the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum on Sanibel Island and held academic positions at the Smithsonian Institution and the Delaware Museum of Natural History.
