Proinsias Mac Cana

Proinsias Mac Cana (1926–2004) was a prominent Celtic scholar born in Belfast to George McCann and Mary Catherine (née Mallon), specializing in early Irish tales, mythology, and the cultural links between Celtic peoples of Ireland and Britain. He held professorships at the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies and University College Dublin, authored influential works like Celtic Mythology (1970), and contributed to restoring the Collège des Irlandais in Paris during retirement.
