Professor Paul Portney

Paul R. Portney is an economist specializing in energy and environmental policy, who joined Resources for the Future (RFF) in 1972, rising to Vice President in 1989 and President from 1995 until 2001.[1] He later served as Professor of Economics at the University of Arizona for nine years, retiring in May 2014, and is now Emeritus Professor there as well as a senior advisor at RFF.[2][3] Portney holds a PhD in economics from Northwestern University and a BA from Alma College.[1]
