Professor David Ekerdt

David J. Ekerdt is Professor Emeritus of Sociology and Gerontology at the University of Kansas, where he has conducted influential research on retirement experiences and how people manage possessions in later life. He previously served as Associate Director of the Center on Aging and directed the KU Gerontology Center from 2003 to 2016. His work spans the sociology of aging, research methods, and graduate education across multiple campuses.
