Prince Rogers Nelson, known mononymously as Prince, was an American singer, songwriter, musician, and performer born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, who revolutionized music with his fusion of funk, rock, pop, and R&B.[1][2] He rose to fame with albums like *Dirty Mind*, *1999*, and *Purple Rain*, achieving massive success with hits such as 'When Doves Cry' and 'Let's Go Crazy,' and released 39 albums over his prolific career.[1][2][3] Prince died on April 21, 2016, at age 57 from an accidental fentanyl overdose.[1][2]
