Plantagenet Somerset Fry
Plantagenet Somerset Fry, born Peter George Robin Fry, was a British historian and author who wrote more than 50 books on history, including his first, Mysteries of History, published in 1957 as an undergraduate. He added 'Somerset' to his surname by deed poll in his youth due to family origins in Wells, Somerset, and adopted 'Plantagenet' as a nickname at university for his advocacy of Richard III. A student of law and history at Oxford, he was a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and founded the Council for Independent Archaeology.
