Pilar Ortega MD

Pilar Ortega, MD, is a bilingual, board-certified Emergency Physician and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Chicago with over 15 years of experience teaching Medical Spanish and advancing language justice in healthcare[2][3]. She is the founding president of the Medical Organization for Latino Advancement (MOLA) and the National Association of Medical Spanish (NAMS), and author of several Medical Spanish books and peer-reviewed articles focused on person-centered communication with Spanish speakers[2][5].
