Pierre Janet
Pierre Janet (1859-1947) was a pioneering French psychologist, philosopher, and physician renowned for his work on dissociation, traumatic memory, and psychological automatism, which influenced Freud and others.[2][4] He earned a philosophy doctorate with his thesis L’Automatisme Psychologique in 1889 and later an MD with L’État mental des hystériques, establishing himself as a founder of clinical psychology in France.[1][3] Though prominent in the early 20th century, his ideas fell into obscurity mid-century before revival.[1]
