Pierre Grimal
Pierre Grimal (1912–1996) was a distinguished French historian, Latinist, and professor at the Sorbonne until 1982, renowned for his works on ancient Greece and Rome.[1][2] Born in Paris, he authored influential books like *The Penguin Dictionary of Classical Mythology* and *Dictionnaire de la mythologie grecque et romaine*, making classical history and mythology accessible to wider audiences.[1][2] Admitted to the École Normale Supérieure in 1933, he was a member of the French School at Rome and left a lasting impact on classical studies.[3]
