Pierre Charles

Pierre Charles (1883–1954) was a Belgian Jesuit priest, philosopher, theologian, and a foundational figure in missiology as a scientific discipline. He is particularly remembered for animating the annual 'Semaine missiologique de Louvain' and for his academic work teaching at universities in Louvain, Rome, New York, and Rio de Janeiro. Charles was also a cofounder of the Louvain School of Missiology, which emphasized the relationship between the Church and diverse cultures.
