Phillip Margolin is an American author of legal thrillers born in 1944 in New York City, known for writing more than twenty New York Times best-selling novels that draw on his background as a criminal defense attorney who handled 30 murder cases[1][2][8]. He currently lives in Portland, Oregon, and has been a bestselling author since 1996[2][9].
