Philip Arthur Fisher was an American investor and author renowned for pioneering growth investing strategies, founding Fisher & Company in 1931 during the Great Depression, and authoring the influential book 'Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits' in 1958.[1][2] He emphasized qualitative analysis through the 'scuttlebutt' method and a buy-and-hold approach with high-quality companies, influencing investors like Warren Buffett, and managed his firm until retiring at age 91.[1][2] His most famous investment was Motorola, held from 1955 until his death.[1]
