Phil Edmonston

Louis-Philip 'Phil' Edmonston (1944–2022) was a Canadian consumer advocate, writer, journalist, and politician who served as a New Democratic Party MP for Chambly, Quebec, and was known for his bestselling Lemon-Aid car guides and founding the Automobile Protection Association. Born in Washington, D.C., he served as a U.S. Army medic in Panama before immigrating to Canada, where he fought for consumer rights against auto manufacturers. A prolific author of over 95 books in English and French, he lived in Panama at the end of his life.
