Petr Horacek (Author, Illustrator)

Petr Horácek is a Czech-born author and illustrator who studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Prague, graduating with a Master of Fine Art degree in 1994.[1][2] After moving to England, he began his career in children's books in 2001 with his first two self-illustrated picture books, Strawberries Are Red and What Is Black and White?, which won the Books for Children Newcomer Award.[1][3] He has since become an internationally acclaimed illustrator of picture books for children, with works translated into multiple languages and awards won in Britain, the USA, and Holland.[3]
