Peter Roebuck

Peter Michael Roebuck was an English cricketer and author who played as an opening batsman for Somerset between 1974 and 1991, earning acclaim as one of the better English openers of the 1980s[1][5]. After retiring from playing, he became a respected journalist and writer for the Sunday Times, The Age, and Sydney Morning Herald, publishing several books on cricket[1][3]. He died in Cape Town, South Africa, on 12 November 2011[1][2].
