Peter Roach
Peter John Roach is a British retired phonetician born on 30 June 1943, who taught at the Universities of Leeds and Reading and is best known for his work on the pronunciation of British English. His best-known publication is English Phonetics and Phonology, and he served as the principal editor of the Cambridge English Pronouncing Dictionary from the 15th to 18th editions. He retired in 2004 as Emeritus Professor of Phonetics at the University of Reading.
