Peter Norton

Peter Norton (born November 14, 1943) is an American programmer, software publisher, author, and philanthropist best known for Norton Utilities and books bearing his name and portrait.[1][2] He founded Peter Norton Computing in 1982, selling it to Symantec in 1990, after which he focused on philanthropy, art collecting, and civic affairs through The Peter Norton Family Foundation.[2][3] Raised in Seattle, he graduated from Reed College in 1965 and has served on boards of institutions like Caltech and LACMA.[5][6]
