PETER MAYLE
Peter Mayle was a British author and former advertising executive who became famous for his bestselling memoirs about life in Provence, France. His 1989 book 'A Year in Provence' chronicled his experiences renovating a farmhouse in rural Provence and became an international bestseller, selling over six million copies in forty languages. He was honored with France's Legion d'Honneur in 2002 for his contributions to French culture.
