Peter Mandel

Peter Mandel (born 1957) is an American children's book author, travel journalist, and essayist known for titles like Jackhammer Sam, Bun, Onion, Burger, and Say Hey! A Song of Willie Mays.[1][4][5] Son of novelist and Life magazine editor Paul Mandel, he grew up in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, graduated from Middlebury College and Brown University, and lives in Providence, Rhode Island with his wife Kathryn Byrd Mandel.[1][5]
