Peter Linehan

Peter Anthony Linehan, FBA (11 July 1943 – 9 July 2020) was a British historian specializing in medieval Spain. He was a fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, where he served as Dean of Discipline, and a fellow of the British Academy, revolutionizing the study of church-state relations in high medieval Spain with works like The Spanish Church and the Papacy (1972) and his magnum opus History and the Historians of Medieval Spain (1993).[1][2][3]
