Peter Gray

Peter Gray is a research professor emeritus of psychology at Boston College, known for his work on the evolutionary psychology of play and self-directed education. He authored the influential introductory psychology textbook Psychology, now in its eighth edition, and Free to Learn, which advocates for children's natural learning through play. Gray founded the Alliance for Self-Directed Education in 2016 and Let Grow in 2017, and maintains a popular Psychology Today blog, Freedom to Learn.
