Peter E Spier

Peter Spier (1927–2017) was a Dutch-American author and illustrator renowned for his detailed, humorous children's books, including the Caldecott Medal-winning *Noah’s Ark* (1977). Born in Amsterdam, he survived World War II internment, studied art in the Netherlands, served in the navy, and emigrated to the United States in 1950, where he began illustrating books in 1957 before creating his own.[1][3][4]
