Peter Delius

Peter Delius is a South African historian and Professor Emeritus at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he joined the History Department in 1981. He completed his PhD at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University in 1986, and previously worked as a Research Officer at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies. Delius is renowned for his books on South African history, including 'The Land Belongs to Us: The Pedi Polity, the Boers and the British in the Nineteenth-Century Transvaal' and others such as 'A Lion Amongst the Cattle' and 'Mpumalanga: History and Heritage'.
