Peter Bently
Peter Bently is a British children's author born in 1960 in Tidworth, Hampshire, England, who grew up in various locations including Germany, Singapore, and Hong Kong due to his father's career as an army bandmaster.[1][3] After studying languages at Oxford University, he worked as a journalist and editor before focusing on writing rhyming picture books such as *Cats Ahoy!*, *King Jack and the Dragon*, and *Octopus Shocktopus*, which have won awards including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Children's Book Award.[1][2] He lives in Devon with his wife Lucy and their children.[3]
