Peter Benchley

Peter Bradford Benchley (May 8, 1940 – February 11, 2006) was an American author best known for his 1974 bestselling novel Jaws, which he later co-adapted into the iconic film with Carl Gottlieb. Beyond his fiction, Benchley became a prominent ocean activist, using his fame to advocate for shark conservation and marine ecosystem protection.
