Percival Everett

Percival Leonard Everett II is an American Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Southern California, and author of over 20 novels, short story collections, and poetry volumes. Born in Fort Gordon, Georgia, in 1956, he grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, earned a BA in philosophy from the University of Miami, and an MFA from Brown University, where he published his debut novel Suder in 1983. His satirical works, including Erasure (adapted into the film American Fiction), explore race, identity, philosophy, and various genres like westerns, mysteries, and thrillers.
