Pauli Murray

Pauli Murray (born Anna Pauline Murray) was a trailblazing American civil rights activist, legal scholar, writer, and Episcopal priest whose work helped shape both the civil rights and women’s rights movements. She co-founded the National Organization for Women, challenged racial and gender discrimination through law and advocacy, and also wrote poetry and prose, including *Proud Shoes*.[2][4][5]
