Paula Deen is an American chef, cookbook author, and television personality known for popularizing Southern cooking through her restaurants, cookbooks, and TV shows. She rose from financial hardship in Savannah, Georgia, after starting a home-based catering business called The Bag Lady, eventually building The Lady & Sons into a well-known restaurant brand.
