Paula Danziger
Paula Danziger (1944–2004) was an acclaimed American children's and young adult author who wrote over 30 books, including her debut *The Cat Ate My Gymsuit* (1974) and the popular Amber Brown series. Born in Washington, D.C., she was raised in Virginia and New Jersey, earned degrees in English and reading, and taught before becoming a full-time writer whose humorous stories addressed teenage identity and serious issues. Her books were translated into 14 languages, published in 53 countries, and all remained in print at the time of her death from a heart attack.
