Paul Engle
Paul Engle (1908–1991) was an American poet, editor, teacher, literary critic, novelist, and playwright best known for directing the Iowa Writers' Workshop and co-founding the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. His early poetry collection Worn Earth helped establish his reputation, and his work as an educator shaped generations of writers.
