Paul Ekman
Paul Ekman was an American psychologist and professor emeritus at the University of California, San Francisco, renowned as a pioneer in studying emotions and their relation to facial expressions, including the discovery of micro-expressions and universal emotions.[2][1] He developed the Facial Action Coding System (FACS) with Wallace Friesen and conducted groundbreaking cross-cultural research, such as fieldwork in Papua New Guinea.[1][5] Ekman authored influential books like 'Emotions Revealed' and 'Telling Lies,' and his work inspired the TV series 'Lie to Me.'[2][6]
