Patrick Skene Catling

Patrick Skene Catling (1925–2026) was a British journalist, author, and book reviewer best known for his children's novel The Chocolate Touch (1952).[1][2] He wrote 12 novels, three works of non-fiction, and nine children's books, while working for publications like the Baltimore Sun, Manchester Guardian, Punch, and Newsweek.[1][3] Born in London, he lived a colorful life including global reporting and interviews with figures like Louis Armstrong and Graham Greene, dying at age 100 in Ireland.[1][4]
