Patricia Wentworth
Patricia Wentworth, born Dora Amy Elles in 1878 in Mussoorie, India, was a prominent British author of the Golden Age of mystery fiction. She is best known for her series of 32 novels featuring the elderly spinster detective Miss Maud Silver, a retired governess who became a professional private investigator in London. Beyond her mystery works, she also wrote historical and romance novels, publishing over 60 volumes in total before her death in 1961.
