Patricia S. Herzog
Patricia Snell Herzog is an interdisciplinary sociologist and the Melvin Simon Chair and Associate Professor of Philanthropic Studies at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, with affiliate faculty roles in Sociology and the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the University of Notre Dame, an MSW in Community Practice from the University of Denver, and a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on charitable giving, civic engagement, religiosity, youth, and emerging adults, with notable publications including 'The Science of Generosity,' 'American Generosity: Who Gives and Why,' and 'Souls in Transition.'
