Pablo Helguera

Pablo Helguera (born 1971 in Mexico City) is a New York-based artist, performer, author, and educator known for his work in installation, sculpture, photography, drawing, socially engaged art, and performance, exploring themes such as history, pedagogy, sociolinguistics, ethnography, memory, and the absurd.[1][3][7] He served as head of public programs at the Guggenheim Museum (1998-2007) and director of adult and academic programs at MoMA (2007-2020), and is currently an assistant professor at The New School College of Performing Arts.[2][3][7] Helguera has authored over a dozen books, including Education for Socially Engaged Art (2011) and An Atlas of Commonplaces (2015).[2][7]
